A KIND EMAIL FROM Jane & Paul who visited us in July 2015:

"We had a fabulous 2 night stay on your lovely site, now that's what camping is all about!! Beautiful surroundings, peace and quiet and a real chance to get away from it all!! Here's a photo I took of our bacon buttie breakfast, please feel free to use it if it's any good!! Hope to see you again soon, if not next year for Cornbury!!" Kind regards Jane and Paul

Only stayed one night as this was part of a week long Bikepacking trip for me on NCN5 with my husband towing the caravan from site to site. It is off grid but we knew about this in advance and were prepared. Lovely site tucked away, very quiet. Drinking water provided. Communication and information from the owner was excellent.

We were looking for a quiet peaceful break so the slightly isolated location (no buses, nearest shop mile and half away) was perfect for us. There is however, a lovely pub within ten minutes walk. This is a non electric site but we successfully made use of the provided solar provision to top up our needs.
Tips for other travellers
Banbury is very accessible and having never visited before we found this very enjoyable. Jeremy Clarkson fans will also be happy as his cafe and new pub 'The Farmer's Dog' is only ten fifteen minutes away by car.

Absolutely lovely site. Beautifully kept, no facilities etc showers or toilets. But there's drinking water, elson point. John the owner very helpful he helped others out with pipes to drain waste water into the hedgerow and also has a couple of moveable solar panels for people to use, will definitely use again .

Comments about this property
Convenient location for 1 night stop in transit elsewhere
Clean , well kept site - clever levelled pitch 1/2 way down slope.
Gate access pen long enough for car & caravan combo ( tail in off road whilst using gate code to enter.)
Prepay to get code / access means to need for meet n’ greet.
- hence “rating service staff” a redundant question - except this survey wont move on unless you enter a value !!
Tips for other travellers
None used.
Be careful of final part of road ( busy with tractors and lorries) - limited passing spots between local village / hamlet ) otherwise A361 from Banbury not a problem.

We always have a fantastic stay at Newton Grove: quiet, plenty of space and good, clean facilities. The CL is so well looked after and maintained and remains my favourite site. John is on hand if you need anything, but never intrusive.
Tips for other travellers
Unfortunately my dog sustained an injury to her cruciate ligament on the first day of our stay while out and about and needed xrays and meds. In my haste to get her examined I didn't think to check the info hut on site where (after the event) I found details of vets where I also could've taken her, but I found Medivet Woodstock online and they saw her straight away - so if anyone else finds themselves in the same position, my experience with them was very positive and they're open 24/7. They also immediately sent xrays and notes over to my vets at home.

I would highly recommend Newton Grove to campers - peaceful, gentle, offgrid - great facilities for water, waste - best toilet drop off ever - fantastic setting - quiet - well maintained grass and hedges - but grass to run around on and some woodland to explore - smashing secret place. John is welcoming, and as helpful as you wish.

Lovely site, tucked away from a little used B road just outside the sleepy village of South Newington.
John was very attentive and quick to respond to any queries.
Hard standing pitches are nice and level and the facilities are easily accessible.
Well worth it for a quick stop over or for a longer stay, if you don’t need EHU.

A lovely site if you are happy to be 'self powered' the facilities are clean, well labeled and well maintained. The information hut is full of useful info and there are even a couple of solar stations should you need a little low power boost.
The booking, arrival information and aftercare are second to none. Hookup would make that final cherry on the cake but we fully understand the reasons it's not there. Although all has been done to lighten the absence with the solar stations. Fantastic stay and we will be back.

We went to Banbury which has indoor shopping area you can take your dog in. Ideal in wet weather. Also a small park along the canal to stroll round to exercise your pet. We parked at the Cherwell NCP another app to download and spend 20 minutes getting frustrated. Should have used the machine and paid the extra £1 to save all the hassel
Visited Chipping Norton. Wonderful had a free car park. Nice Cotswold village to wonder around.
Rollright stones near chipping Norton, park on road. Interesting to look at and have a short walk. Cross over the road to see nice view and monument. Does not taje very long to see.
Went in the bar at Duck on the Pond pub in the village. Not too far to walk. Very nice pub and furnishings. Drinks seemed a bit expensive. But it was lovely in there.

Newton Grove has the most relaxing feel whatever the season or weather. We have visited several times and will be back many more times. The village has a lovely pub and there are short walks around the village or longer walks from the village. There are also some beautiful villages, pubs and walks that you can travel to. The information pack is brilliant and John is readily available if needed. Whilst there are no toilets or showers, the other facilities for water and waste are excellent. The booking system is so easy and user friendly. Can’t recommend this site highly enough, a place which offers peace and serenity in abundance.

Comments about this property
We stayed for four very wet windy nights following an extended period of rain. The site itself was very sheltered - we were prewarned that the grass areas were waterlogged (only hardstanding pitches in use at this time of year) and the owner kindly put down large protection mats roughly where our door would be - it protected us and it protected the grass as much as possible, and with the level of rain was a godsend. Small things made all the difference - the lights automatically came on as you walked to the water/waste/recyling points and stayed on till after your return so you had really good visibility 24 hours a day without disturbing others as everything is accessed from the roadside. With hindsight we should have booked pitch 2 - not pitch 1 as with a large caravan whilst it was easy to motor mover into either pitch, pitch 2 would have given us parking space on the hardstanding road in front for the car without blocking the other pitch. But had we looked - we should have seen this online before booking - this was our error. Communications before our stay were very good, as were the resources in the shelter - there is even an app for the site and local area to support it. The site is quiet and peaceful and the edge of a village with easy access to local facilities and other towns/villages, with what appears to be a good selection of local walks that are dog friendly - but the weather and ground conditions meant we passed on those.
Would we return? Absolutely, its set up for all year round use and evergreen plants and hedges made the surroundings lovely - but i would imagine its beautiful in the summer. Site is quiet and secluded - but there is so much do to only a few minutes drive in any direction.
Tips for other travellers
We're told by our neighbours that the village pub is lovely, friendly and does good food (we didn't venture out of an evening) , the local fish and chip shop/chinese takeaway we did use - the chinese food was lovely, don't expect standard fish and chips, they don't do fish and have a limited menu to go with the chips - but what we had was good.
Chipping Norton is close by which is a lovely Cotswold market town - and there is easy access to other local towns - Banbury, Bicester and the traditional "Cotswolds towns route"

This is a lovely quiet site and very well kept. We have stayed here before and will definitely return again sometime.

The duck on the pond pub only about 10 minutes walk away is very friendly.
We didn't eat there as not really to our taste and a bit expensive for us but we did have a few drinks there.

An immaculate kept cl, for the off-gridder or for those who would like to try off-gridding as there is a solar set up you can borrow which I think is a great idea.
Tips for other travellers
If you're coming from the Banbury direction don't let the satnav turn you left opposite the Duck on the pond continue as to leave the village and turn left at the grass island.

Great site, very clean and tidy, quiet at night and lots of room. We needed ramps as the top of the site is on a bit of a slope, the bottom of the site is flatter. John was great to deal with, will certainly come back if we are in the area.

The Duck on The Pond, whilst a limited Menu, provides very good quality food.

We had a lunch at the Hook Norton Brewery (bookings required), which was less pretentious but excellent value for money.

A 5 unit beautifully kept site.
Site is off grid so facilities were minimal but water supply was excellent, ditto site access and security, waste disposal and grey and black waste disposal.

I loved the helpful local information packs and thought that the provision of fire pits, even though we didn’t use one, was a lovely touch.

Tips for other travellers
Some lovely walks and the village is beautiful.

Absolutely loved our stay. What a lovely site in a great location for walking and cycling.

Well done John, you have got it just right and we will be back.

Our only disappointment was that The Duck on the Pond had a function on when we popped in there for lunch and were not even able to do a snack - but that was not your fault in any way!

Tips for other travellers
The Duck on the Pond, although we were unable to check the food out, is staffed by very nice people and is dog friendly in the bar and outside.

Great location for cycling with many quiet lanes and the Hook Norton Brewery is only 5 miles away so easily doable. Just watch out for the hills, some of which are very long.

A perfect place to be for a few days, or longer. Large site, well-maintained. John is friendly and knowledgeable. We shall return soon.
Tips for other travellers
A great place for walks.
The site is surrounded by farmland (although there are trees and hedges providing screening) so there may be noise from that - harvesting was going on late into the evening on our last night. It didn't bother us but might disturb others.
A lot of birds visited the site. Goldfinches, tits, Red Kites. We saw several rabbits too. A great place to star-gaze on a clear night. I saw 6 shooting stars.

If you’re looking for a quiet, beautifully kept CL, this is it! The site has keypad entry, the owner is very friendly and helpful. There are two, level hard standings and the other pitches are on grass and are sloping so levelling will be required. There are two drinking water points, one on the edge of the site and another on the lane just outside - very useful if the grass is wet! There is a very useful information point and the chemical disposal and rubbish area is spotlessly clean. There’s no EHU but there are two solar panel units for charging batteries! Grey waste goes onto the wild areas around the perimeter. There are two small wooded areas at either end of the site useful for the early or late dog walk. The site is on the edge of a pretty village and the excellent Duck on the Water pub/restaurant is about 5 minutes walk. Great base for Hook Norton (the brewery is worth a visit), Chipping Norton, Banbury and a little further, Blenheim Palace. A lovely CL.

Lovely quiet site in picturesque village with a pub you can walk to. Friendly owner suggested we stop on the hardstanding area as only there for one night. Water, elsan (green chemicals only) and recycling which is all you need. Space to take dog for a quick wee in the wood and plenty of public footpaths around although some were a little overgrown in July.

We find this site to be one of if not the best off grid site We know. The owner has a very high standard of maintenance and is often to be seen tending to the site without being intrusive for those enjoying the site. A very relaxed and friendly owner. First class standards throughout.
Tips for other travellers
The nearest pub Restaurant is just on the edge of the village and is called the Duck on the pond which can be reached via a beautiful walk through the picturesque village of South Newington with its beautiful cottages with very floral gardens and pretty views. Many aromatic gardens breathe fresh scents as you make your way to the bottom of the village past the old Norman Church that is a must to visit. The history within is amazing.
The village of Bloxham is handy for a post office, Co-Op, Chemist, Fish & Chip shop and Petrol Station. All in all there really is so much to visit in the area.

Very well maintained spacious site with easy access. Sloping field but with level pitching available. beautiful site. really well organised. very peaceful. very impressed with service from
booking to leaving. everything has been thought of. immaculate field and facilities. very secure. unfortunately we had to leave after one night as my husband was ill which was such a shame as we were booked in for three nights and would have been quite happy to spend all our time there!
Tips for other travellers
we were booked in to go to Broughton Castle and hoping to see the medieval wall paintings at the local church. Our visit was mainly for relaxation though which we certainly enjoyed

An absolute gem of a site, peacefully tucked away from the road, sunny with trees round the edge for shade. Spotlessly clean and beautifully kept- an example of how a CL should be. Comms were spot on and John kindly contacted us in advance to say he’d reserved a hardstanding for us as there had been so much rain.
There’s a really useful little info hut where you leave payment.
We also really appreciated the security of a gate with a code
Hard to believe this gorgeous little site is only £12.50 a night.
Tips for other travellers
There are footpaths from the village which we hope to explore more next time- turn left out of the site and first right. Go to the bottom of the lane and there are footpaths in 3 directions.
Stowe Gardens are only about 30 minutes drive and the Rollright Stones are also quite nearby (another one for next time).

Nice quiet site. Grass pitches very sloping but 2 flatter hardstanding pitches at bottom of the field. Suited well for 1 night but a toilet / shower block would help for any longer stays. Coded entry system worked well.

Site has all that we need and is one of the best thought out cl's we have stayed on. The information point contained a wealth of local poi's and the grass areas are better than my lawn. Many thoughtful little touches take this site to the next level for us off gridders.
The site has quite a slope and the grass can cut up a bit in wet weather. Booking and contact with the site was very efficient and the site is very secure.
Tips for other travellers
We had a nice day out at Batsford arboretum and garden centre and on another day went to Boughton Castle both of which were well worth a visit. Hook Norton and it's famous brewery and the Rollright stones are all within a few miles and the cotswold towns are welcoming.

Newton Grove is our favourite CL by far ! Peaceful, sheltered and beautifully kept. There are no EHUs here but a mobile solar unit is provided to recharge batteries if needed. Picnic benches and fire pits are provided. Recycling is excellent as is the little information hut. Superb and a place for US to recharge OUR batteries.

On the edge of the Cotswolds. Good walks from the site including the pretty village. Do peep into the little church with its wall paintings and the pub serves good food and is easily walkable.

This is a beautiful well-kept site in a very rural area. The owner, John was a pleasure to meet and one of the nicest CL site owners we have met during our 14 years of CAMC members. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The site is a haven for wildlife, we even had a small deer grazing in front of the caravan one morning. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every moment. A very secure site. We shall certainly be back again another time.
Tips for other travellers
We spent one day visiting Silverstone Museum which wasn't too far away. We explored some pretty villages around. We found the local pubs quite expensive but we found The Red Lion in Banbury which was friendly and sensibly priced, one of the Ember Inn chain.

Duck on the pond is a short walk, whilst food was limited in choice (you won't get a burger), the food was amazing and new owners really pleasant. The church is worth a look inside also if passing. Note you do need to use the green chemicals which we did not have but you could buy on site.

My favourite site by far! This was my 4th time at Newton Grove and each time it does not disappoint. A massive well-kept space with a maximum of five vans so it doesn't feel like anyone is on top of anyone else, plenty of space. John made us very welcome. The site is so peaceful and we were entertained by a wide variety of birds, the wrens were particularly vocal and it was wonderful to see red kites hovering above our heads. At dusk bats flew around our motorhome and my husband saw a barn owl fly across the field.
The site feels secure because of the entry being via a gate with a combination lock. There is a lot of information available in a dedicated shelter which we found useful. The way John has organised the recycling is impressive and the system is easy to follow with everything clearly marked. The toilet emptying facility is one of the most substantial we have come across.
The availability of hard standing pitches as well as grass means that visiting in wetter months is an option particularly with a motorhome.
Tips for other travellers
The main draw for us is the wide variety of walks that can be easily accessed from the site. The surrounding countryside is wonderful, picturesque and so peaceful. We did some road walking and saw very few vehicles, unusual these days.
The walk to Barford St Michael is a treat Rignall Hall can be seen on the way, the history of which is worth researching.
There is a cafe in Bloxham that is within walking distance although we did not get there on this visit we look forward to going next time.

This is probably one of the very best CL’s I have stayed at, it is kept very well, mown grass is so nice to see, coded gate for entry and exit, bins, CDP, fresh water, information hut and even some solar points for FREE use.
The owner was very nice and the only reason i have not given 5 stars on facilities is because there is no EHU, trust me though this is exactly what a very reasonably cost CL should look like and I would DEFINITELY stay here again and encourage others to do the same.

Very peaceful well kept site, the site owner John is very cheerful, helpful and efficient.
We will be back.THe solar unit with battery wasn't need for the motorhome but enabled charging of my mobility batteries.
Tips for other travellers
The off road walks are not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters due to "kissing gates etc" as normal. Annoyingly there are other solutions for these accesses but very few places seem to use them probably due to costs.

Another great stay in this lovely location, we had an issue with the solar panel on our caravan- it wouldn’t work! But luckily John the owner has 2 freestanding solar panels and we were able to hook up the larger one on wheels which is there for any guests to use, it worked a treat and saved the day😀
Only downside was that the nice pub that you can walk too in the village was closed all week 🤣
We will definitely return to Newton Grove in future 👍👍

Comments about this property
The location meant we were close to Chipping Norton, Silverstone and Banbury as well as being close for brilliant dog walks and pubs for food.
We were towing a car behind the 7.4 length motorhome and access was very easy.
Tips for other travellers
Brilliant pub we went to was the Horse & Groom Inn at Milcombe
The Duck on the Pond looked lovely- but was shut at the start of the week (as most were apart from the Horse & Groom)
We went to all of the above places within easy driving distance of the site

The land is uneven so I would recommend asking for the hard standing gravel pitch or make sure you have ramps with you- we did need them on the hardstanding, however the area was flat

It's a one way system in and out- don't get mistaken and enter the camping area from the bottom- its at the top of the camping site to get in there (once into the main site)

The owners we never actually saw, however the information beforehand was brilliant and we had no need to contact them as everything was spot on

Lastly- EE works brilliantly on the site

On arriving at the site, I was greeted by the friendly owner - John. He showed me where the service points were and explained about his mobile solar panel, which is fantastic for those that don't have a solar panel and have never been off-grid. It was such a peaceful site and incredibly dark at night making stargazing a treat. Went on a lovely bike ride from the site. Love the fire pit! I would highly recommend this site and will be back.
Tips for other travellers
Make sure you are prepared for off-grid camping and bring levelling blocks! Great cycling from the site through beautiful countryside and what can be described as quintessential English villages.

This is a lovely site, very peaceful yet well placed to visit the local area. The facilities are very clean and it's great that there is the opportunity to recycle almost everything in the range of bins next to the waste disposal area.
Would be lovely to sit out on a warm summer evening and watch the stars as there is no light pollution.
Tips for other travellers
The site is well placed for visits to local National Trust properties. The village pub is within walking distance ( see the map of footpaths on Newton Grove's website, or the information hut on site). Wykeham Farm Shop of the A361 is worth a visit. It was great to visit a site that is purposely planned as off grid. Normally off grid sites are those where the farmer can't be bothered to invest in EHUs and the other facilities are similarly ramshackle. Newton Grove is a first class CL designed for the increasing number of people who have completely self contained units. We particularly thought the extension pipes around the site to drain grey water into the hedges was a brilliant idea and a tap on the driveway to fill on board tanks would make topping up easy. The Newton Grove website was full of helpful and interesting information that was backed up with the information hut and welcome folder.

Fantastic location, easy to find and access even with a large motorhome like ours, close enough to everything to be convenient but far enough away so you feel like your in the heart of the countryside. The gentleman that runs the site is very welcoming and the site setup is amazing. Don't be put off by no ehu there are two fantastic mobile solar charge points for both Caravans and Motorhomes. Honestly, this by far the best CL we've ever been too!

Fabulous CL, nicely kept, quiet and peaceful, great facilities (fresh water, elsan disposal, noticeboard with tons of useful information), a warm welcome from John. The only improvement I could suggest would be better motorhome grey water dump - I couldn't have got the tap over the drain because of the proximity to the elsan facility. Otherwise, delightful and perfect, thanks John.

Good communications and very helpful. Very spacious and well kept site. Lots of space. Being off grid means few facilities, but all were 'very fanciable' as my mum would say. We didn't need the solar charger, which is a shame as it looked intriguing.
Tips for other travellers
The wall paintings in St Peter ad Vincula, South Newington are well worth a look - though don't expect to make out much detail in the Doom painting.

Newton Grove is a good cylcing base. If cycling to Oxford be aware the first half of the canal towpath is narrow to Thrupp (Annie's Tea Room recommended). From there it is good cycling right to the centre of the city. Route 5 is a good alternative.

This is one of if not the best off grid CL sites on the Caravan and Motorhome Club network. Located a little to the South Southwest of the town of Banbury in a village called South Newington which in it’s self is a picture postcard village to walk around. The facilities at Newton Grove are first class the water supply is excellent and the Elsan waste point is very clean and modern. You really can not fault this site. Absolutely brilliant for peaceful relaxing stay. The owner worked very hard during our stay to ensure the site was in a first class condition. You really need to go there to appreciate this wonderful site.

A fabulous site with absolutely everything you could need in an off grid location. Very peaceful. Amazing attention to detail has been given to this site, making it easy to relax straight away.
Tips for other travellers
A great place to visit is the National Herb Centre - it’s not only a garden centre but has some lovely dog friendly walks - ranging in length, a very good cafe and shops. The plants themselves are extremely good value and a huge variety.
The pub local to the site - the Duck on the Pond is about a 15 minute walk - friendly staff, nice outside area and dog friendly. We didn’t eat but the food looked good.

Our first full length stay off grid and no problems whatsoever. The site is immaculately maintained and very spacious, despite which it was good to see that the 5 unit limit was not exceeded at any point which sadly, is happening all too often on CLs
A bit of road noise at night was the only downside but not excessive.
We will definitely return when we are next in the area
Tips for other travellers
Good dog walks direct from site, and the Duck on the Pond was excellent, friendly staff and delicious food.

As managers of a Caravan Park for nearly 30 years, I can honestly say that in our spare time we try to visit many caravan parks in our motorhome. We can honestly say this is one of the best, very peaceful and well maintained C.L. we have visited.
John has thought of everything from firepits,solar-powered charging points, security and even toilet fluid (should you run out). We shall certainly be returning to this lovely Park and Area.
Thank-You John!!

There was some confusion about whether to use gloves when using the tap and the lock though with about 50% using them and 50% not. I think most people we spoke to would actually prefer to just wash hands before and afterwards.

This is a lovely site on a large well kept field. There is no EHU or toilets which is fine by us as we mainly use our own facilities anyway. Lovely quiet location . Easy access through large gateway. The site is slightly sloping but not a problem and the grass cut like a lawn. Facilities are excellent and spotless.
Tips for other travellers
As we were only there for two nights didn't venture far. The village is beautiful and worth a walk around. The village pub looks nice but was temporarily closed during our visit. Banbury is a nice town with a wide array of shops.

Excellent Site. Clean well looked after. Plenty of space. Solar panel if required. Waste pipes again if required.
Fire pit for site use.
Tips for other travellers
Maybe a club sign on the triangle price of the lane on the approach to the site in the little village. We were unsure if we were going the correct way fortunately a caravan was leaving on told us to carry on. Goods shops in Chipping Norton with Aldi and M&S.

This is the best off grid CL we have had the pleasure of visiting in over 40 years of caravanning, whilst the field does slope the landowners have ensured that there are lots of levelling material handily located around the site. The choice of where to pitch is yours. There are two hard standing pitches which were full during our visit so check when booking for availability. In addition there is a grass pitch that is level. The standards of this site will impress the best as the grass is like a lawn. In addition the owner has two solar units for battery charging that are available free to use should you encounter a power problem. Fire pits and a chiminea are also available to use. The Elsan and waste recycling facilities are fantastic. I truly could not find any fault with the site. We have thoroughly enjoyed our caravan stay.
Tips for other travellers
We spent 5 nights at the CL and enjoyed the peaceful walks from the site. The village is really pretty to just stroll through looking at the old properties and the flora that adorned them. Banbury and Chipping Norton are about equally distance from the site for any supplies that you may need. There are lots of places to visit in the local area and information on these are in the information pack that the site owner has produced.

Fabulous site, spotless. The grass is kept short and very neat. The whole site is to a high standard.

If you love peace and quiet this is for you. Star gazing at night is amazing as it’s a dark sky area. Lots of local shops, and a chip shop in the next village.. along with other eateries, a retail park a 20min drive away. Plenty to do in the area.

Absolutely fantastic site, loved it and wish we could have stayed longer, cleanliness for waste was immaculate. The solar panels around site are a great touch, and the information hut had everything we needed to know in there. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be returning, but for longer next time.
Tips for other travellers
Only stayed 2 nights so didn’t get to do much, the local pub was closed but looked very welcoming and a sign outside said it would be re-opening soon. We made a small drive to spiceball country park in Banbury, had a good walk with the dog and walked up and round the reservoir too, plenty of large supermarkets there, in fact plenty of shops to get whatever you need.

John has gone over and above in his preparations. The site is huge, simple, sunny, sheltered, some woodland also. The hedges are trimmed and the grass is mown. New facilities and ideas appear every time - this time a new fire pit and a new levelled pitch half way down the field. There's new corona virus signage, and John was out cleaning each day. It is always a delight to stay here - always.
Tips for other travellers
Loads - loads - of really interesting local walks - we tried Wigginton this time and the hill fort at Tadmarton. But there's a real network of ways through, from and around the village.

No real electric hook up. (THIS IS A OFF-GRID SITE!)
Just a solar pannel and inverter to get to 240 volts.
Its not capable of running any equiptment in the van. May be it could power a tooth brush or a phone charger.

Pub just down the road called The Duck.
The campsite has 2 level hardstandings the grass feild area is on a slope. I do not know if its available to park on.

We haven't stayed at this site before, but will definitely return. Great service from John the owner, from the initial booking to making sure we had all the information we needed about our stay. We loved the fact that there was a code on the gate, which made it nice and secure. The grass and hardstanding areas were extremely well kept. The battery charging station was a nice touch too. A lovely and quiet location with very attractive villages on the doorstep. As mentioned, we will be back.

This was our first visit and we found John to be very welcoming and the facilities excellent, recycling, water and chemical waste facilities, information point and solar panel charging (never seen that on a CL site before). There was even a dog poop bin, not everywhere is so accommodating. We had a fleeting visit of one night but I’m sure this site would be great for visiting Banbury and Oxford. We were lucky enough to get one of the two hard standings so the rain didn’t affect us one little bit.

This off grid site is superb hope to see more like it. Who has the dedication , skill & means to reach such a fabulous result.Funds need to be made available to produce more like it.Well done John Clifton.May be you should work with the club to develop larger CL type off grid sites might need change to planning law though.Personally I'd prefer more replicas of this site & if become more popular which they surely will they could be more viable to replicate.May be a good site to teach people how to pitch on a slope as well as introducing them to self sufficient power source.keep up the good work John you're a star.I be back;soon I hope & longer next time Graham Deans 07866 433473

This was our second stay at Newton Grove in less than a month, we couldn’t wait to come back.
Everything as usual was kept immaculate by John’s
hard work. This is a country hideaway location and being all off grid makes your stay even more enjoyable.
We were lucky enough on several occasions to see the
Red Kite in flight close overhead. This is a gem of a cl
Site.
If you need a break to get away from it all and enjoy
natural beauty all around you, this is the place.

lovely quiet site - would benefit from a couple of 'terraced' pitches down the field as it is difficult to park on the slope - would worry that if we arrived another time we would have to try to park on there we did try - but had to park at the bottom of the site. Also -welcome pack should not have address and telephone numbers on as this can be read by other people on site before said people arrive - we know this as someone on site before us knew about other arrivals and how long they were staying. This is a privacy breach

Fabulous stay on an immaculate kept site .
All the facilities although minimal were very well
maintained, and the grass kept short and collected.
I think most campers would agree that collecting the
grass after mowing is important.
John was very punctual on arrival and very welcoming.
The individual welcome information pack was comprehensive and it was an exceptional four day stay
and being off grid was no inconvenience with solar back up facility provided if required.
The site is in a quiet and hide away position but only a short distance from the most beautiful village. Can’t wait to return, when you stay here you definitely feel you have had a holiday.

Fabulous peaceful site in a great location with lots of wildlife including daily breakfast visits from the squirrels. The site owner John was extremely helpful and provided us with lots of info on the surrounding area & attractions available. Even though the site doesn't have toilets, showers & ehu the solar panels provided were excellent and used by several of us on site and the facilities provided were all excellent. We will be back next year as we thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility, so much so that we extended our stay.

Lovely peaceful site, friendly helpful owner, great site to try out a non ehu way of caravanning, two portable solar panels on site for guests to use, one is like a power station with heavy duty battery built in which you can connect your caravan or motorhome to, or use simply to charge your phone, tablet, or laptop.the owner is on hand to help and advise if you need help. Dogs don't appear to need to be kept on a lead which is not to everybody's liking.

Newton Grove is a beautiful, well maintained blissfully quiet campsite. We stayed here for 4 nights and our children (11&9) were more than happy to nature watch and go on local walks. Really good well maintained site, with a couple of hardstandings, as well as a large area of grass. Need levellers generally if on the grass. No EHU but we cope well for days in Winter (and forever in Summer) on the battery and solar panel. There's also a solar panel charging point for batteries, mobile phones, laptops and the like. Good 4G coverage. Deserves to be busier.
Tips for other travellers

Lovely immaculately maintained site with excellent facilities. Peaceful pretty location, well screened from road. Secure access to site via code padlocked gate. Lots of thought given to details making a stay on this site a pleasure. Very helpful and pleasant site owner who has gone the extra mile in making this a first class CL.

Local pub in village Duck on the Pond serving good food is a short walk away. Warm welcome from new owners (since July 18).

This is a beautiful off grid site, immaculately kept, little touches like the solar charging panel, chimnea, varnished benches, and slabs for coal BBQ's to stop scorching the grass, just show the attention to detail the owner has put into making it a very attractive CL to stay on. The two water taps are easily accessed and the disposal point very clean next to the recycling bins.
The owner met us at the site and gave us an information pack with local attractions etc in. We intending staying just 2 nights but stayed a further night and would have stayed longer had circumstances been different. It is set in a quiet village with the nearest pub (The Duck on the Pond) being just a few minutes cycle or walk away which serves great food. The village church only a few minutes walk away is very interesting and the whole area is served by a variety of footpaths leading to nearby villages. Cycling is a pleasure too in the quiet country lanes. We shall definitely be returning.
Tips for other travellers
As previously mentioned, The Duck on the Pond pub in the village is in a lovely setting, great outdoor and indoor space, a pond in the garden and lots of seating. Food is wonderful. The George Pub at Barham St Michael, the next nearest village, in a village setting with great outdoor seating and quirky indoors. Cycling to local villages, Hook Norton Brewery only 5 miles away and very interesting. Banbury is easy cycling and lots of the route is on cycle routes with some on the main road but there are local buses to Banbury if you have a motorhome and don't want to cycle that far. Footpaths everywhere taking you across beautiful countryside. Dark skies at night so its a great spot to sit out and stargaze.

Satnav postcode takes you down a very narrow lane - and NOT to the site which is a few yards away on the 'main' road with a locked gate for which John gives you the code. The Fish and Chips from the shop in Bloxham (less than 10 minutes drive) are fantastic.

We had a lovely time even though the weather was not great. Our gas bottle ran out and being propane it required a large spanner to remove the connection which I didn't realise and didn't have! However a call to John the owner resolved the problem John came across straight away with a spanner set and we changed to the spare bottle.

We saw a deer at the top of the site ( we were at the bottom of the site) the bottom of the site is level, last time we stopped at to of site which is also relatively level and the views are lovely across the surrounding countryside.

Tips for other travellers

Pub in village is nice for eating is walkable, though you have to book and it's quite expensive, we tried the Thai in Chipping Norton which is very nice but a drive away.
